Turbo Twist Math

We have a new math game called turbo twist math. What you do is you turn it on and play the games. The turbo twist is a game where you play math games and then try to get the best score possible. The turbo twist can teach us to do math fast.

Greysen's D-rex Toy

Greysen brought his toy dinosaur for sharing on Tuesday and everybody loved it. Greysen the owner of D-Rex made D-Rex attack Michael and everybody screamed when it got closer and closer to Michael. The hole class was laughing.

Reading Menu

We have a reading menu now in room 4, so we know what we can do during reading time.

Feeding Baby Calfs

One day my dad and I went to check on the calf's and the cows. When we went to check on the cows and the calf's we saw two calf's that were not getting enough milk. So me and my dad feed the baby calif's. The bottles that we feed the calif's with are very big bottles. Then two days later we had to put the first calf in the Barn.

Corlering Eggs

We are going to color eggs. Then we are going to put our name on a egg. Then tomorrow somebody will hide the eggs. Everyone has to find their own egg that has their name on it. The whole class is probably excited about it.

A Dot in Math Means Mulitplication

Did you know when you do a math sentences that are multiplication, you are using times? You can write it in a different kind of way. You use a dot instead of an "x". That is the way the middle school and high school teachers want us to learn it.

Yesterday we had a Leprechaun in the classroom. There was foot prints everywhere! We tried to catch the Leprechaun.

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patrick's day when our class came in from recess there were leprechaun footprints everywhere in the classroom. Then Josey found a note under the reading table it said, Good job! hungry? I left you a treat. Look under scrap paper or garbage.

Then Vicky found the one under the bench it said, Happy St. Patrick's day! Mix this magic powder with magic moo juice for a yummy treat.

So some of the kids went and got some milk and poured the milk in the magic powder. It terned into go-gurt and the hole class tried it except JC and KB. The hole class really had fun!

Bookmark Contest

We had a bookmark contest. A bookmark contest is when you get a bookmark with out anything on it. Then draw some thing you want to put on the bookmark. Then give it to Mrs. Naughton. Then when its time to pick the bookmarks, Mrs. Naughton gives you a little piece of paper and we get to vote on the one we think is the best. And mine won!

Sharing

Yesterday we made a sharing list about who is going to be sharing every day of the week. We can't do sharing sometimes because if we don't do a good job in the other activities. We can't bring in any pets.

The Focus Wall

We put up a focus wall. On the focus wall it says math goals, reading goals, and writing goals. We are going to put some of are work up on it.

Mrs.Thorn

We have Mrs. Thorne every other week to teach us. We really like Mrs. Thorne a lot. Mrs.Thorn helps us when we have a problem. Mrs.Thorne is a very nice teacher. Mrs. Thorne comes to every classroom every month. Mrs. Thorne likes every kid in this school. If a kid gets a pink slip, they go to the cafeteria and she reminds them about the rules.

PB & J 5000

We programed Dr.Jason as a robot to make a pb & j sandwich. We told him to open the bread but we didn't tell him how to, so he ripped the bag and the bread flew everywhere. It was like he set off a bomb in the bread. He messed up a little bit. We laugh so hard.

Extra Recees

We have extra recess. All the second graders that don't get a pink slip get to have extra recess on Thursday. The first graders have extra recess on Friday. I like extra recess.

Mrs. Schimel's Birthday

March 3-9-10 it was Mrs. Schimel's birthday. We sang happy birthday to Mrs. Schimel 4 times. It seamed like Mrs. Schimel had a very good morning, and a very good afternoon. Mrs. S. and Mrs.S. sent her flowers too.

Mosquitos

Today at school we were in reading and I said to Mrs.schimel that only female mosquitos bite. The next morning Mrs.schimel had papers and it said that only female mosquritos bite and I was right! The female mosquitos bite because of their eggs. The female mosquitos lay there eggs on water. Every time I go fishing a mosquito bites me. But last year my family put bug spray on me.

Alue the Dude

Today we played alue the dude. Alue the dude is where you have teams or you can play everyone vs everyone and you try to tag the team with the ball. It is the most fun game at school.

Science

Today we got to do science. It was fun. We got to have Dr. Jason this year. He is a graduate student from the U of O. We learned some science that water is a liquid and ice is a solid. We had to discover shapes. We know our senses. 1 is seeing 2 is smelling 3 touching 4 is tasting 5 is hearing. Here are some words: 1 is soft 2 is smooth 3 is solid 4 is tough. The other 14 are hard, rigid, rough, size, square, triangle, liquid, gas, solid, color, tan, clear, transparent, opaque, flexible, that's all the words. We just started science on Monday 3-1-10. We all got to have the same supplies. Science is the best thing in the world!
